TIPCHECK Audits — Identify Heat Loss Potential
As a certified EiiF TIPCHECK Expert Level 4, we perform standardized TIPCHECK audits to technically assess heat losses in existing insulation systems. The objective is a traceable condition assessment that provides documented findings to support the client’s independent technical evaluation and prioritisation.
What is TIPCHECK?
TIPCHECK (Technical Insulation Performance Check) is a standardized thermal-energy audit developed by the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF) for industrial insulation systems. It systematically identifies energy-related irregularities and documents heat losses in a traceable manner.
Relevant plant areas are evaluated — from heat and cooling generation through piping systems to tanks and process components. The results are structured and technically classified. They provide a documented basis for internal prioritisation and maintenance planning. Further information about the programme is available from the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF). Compared with broader energy audits, the emphasis is specifically on the condition and energetic performance of industrial insulation systems. Unlike manufacturer-driven assessments, TIPCHECK audits are carried out without product recommendations or affiliation to particular suppliers or contractors.

Independence and Neutrality
REICHINGER INGENIEURE GmbH conducts TIPCHECK audits on a manufacturer-neutral basis. Where relevant, potential conflicts of interest are contractually excluded. Assessments are based on technical and energy-related evaluation criteria.
Decisions regarding measures, procurement, tendering, contractor selection and implementation remain the sole responsibility of the client.
Professional Background

Scope and Limitations
A TIPCHECK audit does not constitute detailed engineering, product selection, tender documents or construction supervision. It also does not replace a dedicated inspection for corrosion under insulation (CUI).
If externally visible indications are noted during the walk-down, these may be recorded as technical remarks in the report. A systematic CUI inspection or removal of insulation is not part of a TIPCHECK audit; clients may commission follow-up inspections or remedial works separately.

Dipl.-Ing. Stephan-F. Reichinger (EiiF TIPCHECK Expert Level 4 / FROSIO Insulation Inspector Level 3) conducts audits outside of his full-time employment. This activity is declared and performed in accordance with applicable secondary employment rules.
The audit does not create any obligation to use specific products, systems or suppliers. The evaluation is intended to support the client’s internal technical decision-making and prioritisation.
